Energy storage has never been a bigger topic in Australia, with the ongoing uptake of renewable energy highlighting the importance and relevance of energy storage and its role in our energy future.   The energy transition is upon us and energy storage has a crucial role to play in Australia’s future energy mix, both in front and behind the meter.

With our flagship annual event taking place in just two weeks time at the International Convention Centre, Sydney, we at the AESA have been busy making sure that this years Australian Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition plays a valuable role in advancing the energy storage industry, introducing the latest storage technologies and applications for commercial and residential consumers as well as for network service providers and engineering contractors.

Throughout the year, the AESA has engaged with a variety of industries poised for the uptake of energy storage and renewable energy, and has kept in touch with the industries already making investments, sharing their plans and expectations for their renewable future.

This year’s conference is exemplary of the wide range of applications and technologies that make up the energy storage industry as a whole, and showcases not only how these technologies are transforming the Australian power sector, but also how they are being utilized overseas and changing the global energy industry.

While batteries are still king in terms of investment and installation numbers worldwide, the chemistries and technologies are changing at a rapid pace, with non-battery solutions emerging as serious players in medium to long duration applications.  Renewable hydrogen is the sleeping giant, just beginning to stir, holding within it the potential of mass export of clean energy to supplant coal, and add to our gas exports, providing seasonal reserves of fuel and energy security for distant nations.  All of these technologies and more will be featured and discussed at AES 2019.

The conference features exclusive content and international speakers such as:

Robert Morgan: CEO-Energy Storage; GE Renewable Energy

John Zaharancik: COO; Fluence

Merrick Kerr: COO; Energy Vault

Jon Norman: President and COO; Hydrostor

Miguel Raimao: Vice President Mobile Solutions; Hexagon Lincoln

Matt Penfold: VP of Strategy and Commericalisation; Advanced Microgrid Solutions

David Miller: VP of Business Development; Greensmith Energy

Gianpaolo Giuliani: Global Sales Director – Energy Storage; GE Renewable Energy

Jes Donneborg: Executive Vice President; Aalborg CSP

Stephan Bauer: Head of Green Gas Technology; RAG Austria

Caleb Waugh: Head of Business Analytics – Energy Storage; Lockheed Martin energy

And many more!

As the active players in the Australian industry, this is the ‘must attend’ event of the year to network, share experiences, and learn new ways to progress the industry.  As always, the exhibition is free-to-attend, but for those looking for the in-depth conference experience, use the code AESA20 to take advantage of your AESA 20% off member discount.
